CBP’s enhanced Form 5106 enforcement began September 18. If an Importer of Record (IOR) record contains inaccurate or incomplete information, CBP can void the IOR number immediately. The number then becomes invalid for importing merchandise, exposing cross-border shipments to entry delays, storage costs, and disruption.

• Audit the legal entity name, physical address, EIN, phone, and importer-controlled email.

• Confirm every customs broker has a valid, direct power of attorney.

• If voided, email the completed Form 5106, identity proof, and applicable POA to bondquestions@cbp.dhs.gov with subject “Void IR#.”
